Change Makers Mentors will engage up to three Change Makers in and through:
Development of a personal spiritual practice, including a daily discipline of prayer, meditation and scripture reading;
Theological reflections about their experiences both personally and vocationally;
Participation in at least one peer reflection session within their geographic location;
Encouragement throughout the ministry ideation process.
Wesley Theological Seminary and the Lewis Center for Church Leadership will also provide a curriculum and resources to be used by Change Makers: fundraising, basic business planning, community asset mapping, racial and economic equity, discipleship models, and personal leadership assessment.
Requirements: The ideal mentor candidates will be entrepreneurial, experienced in community transformation, and called by God to ministry to emerging generations.
Ordained Elder in the Baltimore Washington Conference
Proven track record of launching innovative and growing ministries
Successes in mentoring young adults who have become candidates for ministry
Available to attend a week-long innovation training in London, England either mid-May 2018 or mid-Aug 2018
Able to meet with three mentees every 6-8 weeks for vocational and theological reflection from May 2018 through Summer 2019
Remuneration: A stipend of $1,200 will be given as well as Learning Lab costs. Mentors will be responsible for their airfare to and from London.
